How to get involved in exercise and sport in your community

There are providers who specialise in providing fitness sessions for people with low vision or blindness either face-to-face or online. These include organisations such as WeFlex and Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria.

If you are interested in face-to-face exercise, agencies like WeFlex have personal trainers who are specifically trained in vision impairment who can train with you at home, in a gym, or a local park—wherever suits you best. WeFlex also partner with gyms like Anytime Fitness and Fitness Playground.

If you are interested in online classes, Blind Sports and Recreation Victoria offers a range of FREE online fitness sessions for people with low vision or blindness to help people get fit at home.  All fitness levels are welcome, no equipment is necessary, and anyone who is blind or has low vision around Australia can join in.

A Program Coordinator will also verbally describe some of the moves before the YouTube video commences via the zoom link.  Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes.  Find more information on the Zoom Walking Fitness page.

What is an Energy Balance class?
This class is all about balancing energy so that you can optimise your health and wellbeing.  The class will activate your energy, with soft-flowing movements.
